In this 15-minute one-on-one session, Hannah Grieco (see bio) will discuss issues of character, language, and structure of your manuscript. She will look at aspects that are already strong and will suggest possible improvements.  

  • Submit a five-page Word Document of a work-in-progress (double-spaced, Times or Times New Roman, 12pt. font) by March 1.

  • Reviews will be limited to the first eight people to sign up.

  • We will let you know what your time-slot is closer to the conference start date.

Pitch to a Publisher

Want to pitch your completed novel, short story, poetry collection, or maybe just learn about how to pitch to a publisher? Come prepared with your best oral pitch and/or questions for your 10-minute one-on-one session with Shawn Reilly Simmons of Level Best Books (see bio).

  • Develop a one-sentence summary of your work.

  • Choose the best focus of your pitch (such as the work’s characters or the theme). 

  • Describe your own writing background and experience. 

  • Practice pitching beforehand to a friend or family.

  • Allow 3-5 minutes for the pitch. 

  • We will let you know what your time-slot is closer to the conference start date.

  • Describe your own writing background and experience. 

  • Practice pitching beforehand to a friend or family.
